I am a qualified Dog Groomer and hold the Level 3 in City & Guilds Dog Grooming.

I have owned dogs all my life and was brought up with Cairn Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Border Terrier. For the last 23 years I have owned Golden Retrievers. I also have a Jack Russell cross Chihuahua.

The Salon is equipped with the very latest equipment, including the largest motorised table and bath, so both large and elderly dogs can manoeuvre easily on to the table and into the bath without having to be lifted for the comfort and safety of both dog and groomer. A Cabinet dryer is NOT used.

You are welcome to visit the salon if you wish and also stay with your dog while I groom if you have a nervous dogs and feel that this would be of benefit. I allow plenty of time to groom each dog, as they require toilet breaks and rest periods.

The Salon is based in the rural village of Gotham, which is south of Nottingham. I offer collection and delivery for a minimal fee from the following areas; Gotham, East Leake, Barton in Fabis, Thrumpton, Kegworth, Clifton, Ratcliffe on Soar, Costock, Wysall, Keyworth, Wilford, West Bridgford, Edwalton, Gamston, Compton Acres, Silverdale and Ruddington.

After a consultation with yourself to find out more about your dog and their requirements, I will need to take down a brief history documenting any ailments of special requirements your dog may need while if my care. The client card will then contain all the details I will need to know for future visits and be updated at each visit to contain a record of your dogs grooming history. I will then carry out a health check on your dog and discuss the grooming requirements that will best suit you and your dog’s lifestyle.

In conjunction with the rules set out by the Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Clause 5 - Animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering...) Hair off the Dogs will not de-matt a neglected coat but to protect them from pain and trauma, matted dogs will require a shave down/clip down. But every attempt will be made to contact you to let you know that this is what your dog requires if the coat is to badly matted to be saved or is the kindest option for your dog.
